Two games, one desk

Destiny trials archive and WoW Forever basics

I am Calvin Caldwell. Trials notes built this site, shooter guides filled its middle, and WoW Forever reading journals grow beside them. Every page comes from my own notebooks.

About the author

Keeping Weather Out of Buildings Since Two Thousand and Two

This site began as Trials notes after lost lighthouse cards. Years later it holds shooter guides and WoW Forever journals, and the rule has not changed: nothing gets posted that my notebooks cannot back.

Trials cards and Osiris lore built the name, and extraction shooters filled the middle. Forever brings zone stories with dungeon pages, plus raid companions for December.

  • Every zone read before it is posted
  • Boss order checked before it is printed
  • Spoilers marked, sources named
  • Corrections logged at the end of every week

How I read

A story should be followable. Every zone post names who rules and who starves. The ruins get their paragraph too, because nothing in my notes ever lacked a reason.

How I verify

Note every claim before posting it. Use the boss order the dungeon shows rather than the shortcut someone swears by. Leave each page clearer than the run walked in.

FAQ

The Questions Homeowners Ask on the Driveway

If yours is not here, call and ask. Nobody at this number works on commission, so you will get the answer rather than a pitch.

Where do I start on this site?

Trials readers open the Destiny archive first. Forever readers start with Zephras Isle journals. The stories table links both.

Do old shooter posts still get updated?

Guides keep their URLs and their ranks. When a patch breaks a tactic, I add a dated note instead of rewriting history.

What does the WoW Forever category cover?

Beta journals follow the zones upward, dungeon pages carry boss order, and raid companions wait for the December unlocks. Camping notes sit with the journals.

Boost or grind — how do I choose?

If the story waits behind a group I cannot field, a WoW Forever Boost buys the evening back. If the road itself is the fun, I walk it.

Are spoilers marked?

Endings stay wrapped for a month after launch content lands. Boss fates and final lines hide behind warnings. Hints are free, answers wait.

How fast do you answer mail?

Within days, in person. Corrections jump the queue because wrong dates mislead readers. Page links get the fastest replies.

Do you cover both games at once?

Yes, and the desk stays split: Destiny trials on weeknights, Forever journals the rest. One voice throughout, no mixed pages.

What if a tactic fails in my run?

Tell me through the contact page with the page link. I retest the step the same week and fix the page or mark the date it broke.

From the notebooks

What the Forever beta taught me about reading

I entered the beta during its first week with clean pages and one rule: story first, levels second. The ceiling sat at 30, so I read slowly on purpose. These are the threads that survived my notes.

The Forsaken Kingdom link

Forever starts where the Reforged campaign about the Forsaken Kingdom ends. That bridge matters because it explains the strangest sight of the beta: undead paladins walking around with holy light. I spent an evening tracing their chapels back to Undercity roots, and the through-line holds.

Two Skyborne futures

The new race shares one ancestry and two tempers. Horde Skyborne keep elemental customs and raise shamans. Alliance Skyborne chase the arcane past and raise mages. Both start on Zephras Isle, and the parting of ways begins before level 12. My notebook has a page per side.

The Barrow Deeps prisoners

Night elves keep their worst captives under lock in the Barrow Deeps, with three doors scattered across the world. One cell supposedly holds a very famous hunter of demons. The raid opens in December for ten players, and I plan to read every tablet on the way down.

Hyjal drinks first

Something drains power from Hyjal Summit while twenty players climb toward it. The builders tease a legendary reward at the top without naming it. Endgame zones usually rush me. This one made me sit on a ridge and watch the light move.

Zephras Isle, line by line

Starter zones usually rush past me. Zephras held me for three evenings because every third quest contradicts the one before it. The elementals remember one history, the elders tell another, and my Skyborne stands between them from level 1.

I copied four lines of dialogue into the notebook. One elder calls the isle a cradle. A windspeaker calls it a cage. Both cannot be right, and that split carries the whole race choice at creation.

Ruins I read twice

The Ruins of Lordaeron replay the fall in architecture. Broken arches, Scourge stains, and one untouched chapel door no one opens. Horde readers reclaim it from 15 to 20 with muddy boots. I ran it twice: once for the clear, once walking backward through every room.

Dalaran works the opposite trick. The barrier fell, the Kirin Tor lost the paperwork war, and players near the beta cap mop up the magical mess. A city dungeon that reads like a misfiled archive is my favorite kind.

What transmog hides

I keep transmog off because old armor tells the truth. Mismatched shoulders mean their wearer leveled through honest drops, and that history beats any matching set. Forever lets me skip the fashion while the collection fills quietly behind me.

At 60 the restrictions fall away and old appearances become fair game. Until then I read shoulders like chapter titles. Plate stays plate, cloth stays cloth, and the rules keep the story honest.

The legendary question

The builders tease a legendary reward above Hyjal Summit without naming it. That silence is deliberate, and speculation is the community game I enjoy most. My notebook holds three candidates, all crossed out twice.

Legendaries used to end stories. Here one might start it. If the summit drinks power upward, the prize could be whatever drinks first. I will be on that ridge with readers when the name drops.

My beta reading order

New readers ask where to begin, so here is the order my notebook settled into. Zones first, levels second, as always.

PassageLevelsThread
Zephras Isle1 to 12A divided people at the start
Rivergladesmid-30s to mid-40sFrontier folk rebuilding
Shen’dalashidden countryCentaur history untold
Mount Hyjal60A land deciding what grows back

When my group cannot field a party, I book a WoW Forever Boost for the words, not the loot. I walk in for the dialogue and walk out with pages. If a thread above pulled you too, start with its zone.
